Hello, I’m a TV stylist and producer with fifteen years’ experience – would love to hear from anyone who’s interested in this side of the industry, anything wardrobe, fashion or make-up related..

Hi Sophie, I’ve just graduated from University, having studied fashion media and promotion. I would love to get some experience in the TV industry, what would you suggest? Thank you, I look forward to your reply.

    Hi Erin
Hope you’re well. Congrats on graduating! I would start by looking for internships at TV programmes who have fashion departments (these will mostly be flagship, long-running shows). I’m not sure how often these positions come up, or indeed if they’re advertised much. It might be worth finding out the names and contacts of fashion producers on the sort of shows you’d like to work on, and then make an approach via email. Is it specifically fashion styling within TV that you’re wanting to get into? The other thing you could do is research fashion stylists (a quick google search will do it) who work a lot within TV. Freelance TV stylists are often likely to have a high turnover of assistants/budgets to pay for help. Hope this is useful info. Feel to come back with further questions!
